A Family Business Since the 1970s
Our story begins in the 1970s, when my father, Bruce, opened a neighborhood paint store called Prather Paint in the Chicago area. In fact, some of his and my mom’s earliest dates were spent redoing the floors of that shop - the first of many projects they would take on together.
As kids, my siblings and I grew up working in the store. We learned early on the importance of hard work(and heavy work! We never had a loading dock so we unloaded trucks by hand!), attention to detail, and the value of strong relationships with our customers.
In 2012, my dad and I launched www.uspaintsupply.com, bringing the store’s service and products online. A few years later, when my dad was ready to semi-retire and the retail shop closed, my parents kept the business alive in a garage, serving both our longtime Chicago based customers and new ones around the USA.
In September 2025, my wife Tori and I took over the business and moved it to Texas. We both work full-time jobs, and we enjoy running US Paint Supply together during our mornings, evenings, and weekends. Every order is personally handled by us - a continuation of the same dedication my parents began with more than 50 years ago.
